As an artist, designer and illustrator I have earned an international reputation with my artwork and design. Illustrative in my approach I believe there is no substitution for good drawing skills and accurate observation.
I have produced freelance art, design and illustration work for companies and private clients including Horse and Hound, Essex Police, the British Horse Society, the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, Farming Books and Videos, Lancashire Trust for Nature Conservation, West Lancashire Tourism, West Lancashire Health Services Lake District National Park and Leighton Hall.
I also work on a range of magazines, brochures, corporate literature and adverts and have illustrated several books.
As well as my artwork and graphic design I produce cartoons under the name Nik. These can be viewed on the Cartoon Gallery page.
I have also worked for many years as a lecturer teaching both art and graphic design courses.
I have held a number of successful exhibitions and I am currently working hard to produce some new paintings for a series of exhibitions in 2008.
As a qualified BHSAI I have been involved in the horseworld both teaching and riding which I love and get involved in when time allows. I own an ever increasing menagarie of pets (most rescued and of indeterminate parentage).
I am always pleased to chat about my my work and art/design in general and welcome any comments. There is much more to me and my work than these few pages but I hope I have given you a taste of what the Pigsty Studio is about.
