Penny's Story
Oils

Penny
was the first rescue case handled by the International League for the
Protection of Horses now World Horse Welfare at Penny Farm nr Blackpool in 2001.
One of four
Irish Draught mares saved from appalling conditions, she was nurtured
back to health and fitness by Tony and Tracey Fleming the centre's managers.
Penny made national headlines later that year by successfully being rehomed
with the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery. She took to army life so
well that within a short period she took part in Queen Mother's funeral. She
is now an important part of the world famous King's Troop Gun Team and
appears all over the country in their Musical Ride as a wheeler in C
sub. She visits Penny Farm Open Day with the Troop every year in September
